Ain Hanschmidt

Chairman of the Management Board of Infortar, Chairman of the Council of the Estonian Employers' Confederation

Ain Hanschmidt is Chairman of the Board of Infortar, one of Estonia's largest companies and employers. With a turnover of more than €1 billion, Infortar operates in seven countries, with its main areas of business in maritime transport, energy and real estate. Infortar employs 6,228 people and the group comprises more than 100 companies, including the Tallink Group and Elenger, the largest private equity energy company in the Baltic States.

Mr Hanschmidt has long banking experience - from 1992 to 2005, Ain was the head of Eesti Ühispanka (now AS SEB Pank). Ain has previously held various positions in Läänemaa, including Deputy Mayor. Ain Hanschmidt graduated from Tallinn University of Technology with a degree in industrial planning and later studied abroad. He is also President of the Estonian Golf Association.
