Elmar Gams

Researcher, Estonian Institute of Historical Memory

Elmar Gams is a researcher at the Estonian Institute of Historical Memory. He has recently defended his PhD thesis titled 'The Release Procedure of the deportees from the Estonian, Latvian, and Lithuanian SSR, 1945-1989'. His research interests include the repressive policies in the Soviet Union after Stalin's death as well as historical memory in the USSR and contemporary Russia. Additionally, he runs the oral history portal Kogu Me Lugu.
