Jan-Hendrik's keynote title is : Nutrient limited enzymes to degrade carbon unlimited glycans
Present photosynthetic organisms have more than enough carbon dioxide to synthesize diverse glycans. Heterotrophic microbes require nitrogen and other nutrients for enzymes to extract carbon energy and release the carbon dioxide contained in glycans. The group represents how nutrients balance photosynthesis and microbial degradation of an algal glycan that contributes to carbon sequestration. It follows a broader discussion about glycan diversity as an emergent challenge for microbes that require enzymes to release carbon dioxide.
