Educating Architects - the First 5000 Years

Architecture adjusts humans with space. This is inevitable because space is the fundamental mode of human consciousness as well as the structure of reality.

The current paradigm of architecture and its education is about 600 years old. Most of this time architects have studied 5 + years. The Fourth Technological Revolution has ended this paradigm. What happens next in the education of architects?

Jüri Soolep is an Estonian architect and member of the Estonian Association of Architects, with extensive experience in architectural education and its development. He has served as professor and dean at the Estonian Academy of Arts and has been involved in international initiatives related to architectural training and research.

His work focuses on the relationship between architecture, spatial thinking, and society, with particular attention to how technological and societal change reshape architectural education. In his recent work, he reflects on the future of architectural training in the context of the digital age.
