Harminder Dua

Harminder Singh Dua, MBBS, DO, DO(London), MS, MNAMS, FRCS(Edinburgh), FEBO(EU), FRCOphth, FRCP(Edinburgh, Honorary), FCOptom.(UK, Honorary), FRCOphth.(UK, Honorary), FAICO(Honorary, India), MD, PhD, is chair and professor of ophthalmology at the University of Nottingham and Consultant ophthalmologist, Queens Medical Centre Nottingham, UK, for over 30 years. He is a clinical academic with special interest in the Cornea and Ocular surface. He has over 500 publications with a H-index of 85 and has received over 170 awards and accolades including the appointment as Commander of the most excellent order of the British Empire in 2019 for services to eye healthcare, health education and ophthalmology. His discovery of the ‘Dua Layer’ in 2013 has had a significant impact on corneal transplant surgery and understanding of corneal diseases. He was President of the RCOphth., UK, Editor-in-chief of the BJO, besides holding other posts and also served a term as High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire. He has recently been appointed as Editor-in-chief or the journal Eye.
