Dr. Vytautas Klimavičius

Vilnius University, Institute of Chemical Physics

Dr. Vytautas Klimavičius obtained PhD in Physics at Vilnius University in 2017 by Prof. V Balevičius. After completing PhD studies, he moved to TU-Darmstadt, Germany, for a postdoctoral stay with Prof. G. Buntkowsky. There he was focusing on the development of DNP (Dynamic Nuclear Polarization) enhanced NMR and its application for studying functional materials, such as catalysts, mesoporous systems and energy materials.

In 2018, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. In 2020, Vytautas returned to his alma mater, Vilnius University, where he is now focusing on solid-state NMR applications for studying functional materials, namely novel inorganic/organic/hybrid materials for medical/ optical/ technological/ energy applications.

In 2022, he was recognized by the Vilnius University foundation and received a co-financing grant. Vytautas is now the head of the NMR group and maintains fruitful collaborations with scientists from Germany, France, the USA, the Czech Republic, Poland, etc.
