Prof. Kwang Leong Choy

Kwang Leong Choy is a Professor of Materials Science and Co-Director of the Environment(al) Research Centre at Duke Kunshan University. She holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford and a DSc from the University of Nottingham. Previously, she was a faculty member at Imperial College London, Chair Professor at the University of Nottingham, and Professor & Founding Director of the Institute for Materials Discovery at University College London.

Her research focuses on earth-abundant and nanostructured materials, and films ranging from ultrathin to thick via eco-friendly processing, translating discoveries into applications in energy, optoelectronics, and environmental engineering. She has led numerous national, European, and international research projects with academic and industrial consortia.

She has been awarded the Kroll Medal & Prize and the Grunfeld Memorial Award (IoM3). She holds more than 20 patents, has authored over 330 publications. She is consistently ranked among the world’s top 2% most-cited scientists (Stanford University).
