Dr. Alexandr Dejneka
Alexandr Dejneka is Head of the Division of Optics at the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, where he has long led interdisciplinary research teams and major international research initiatives. He received his PhD in 2002 from the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
Alexandr Dejneka’s research centers on advanced optical techniques, functional materials, and biomedical interfaces, including spectroscopic ellipsometry, phase transformations, low-temperature plasma, and nanoengineering, in collaboration with defence institutions, medical technology companies, and industrial R&D laboratories.
He played a key role in founding both the National Centre of Competence MATCA and Brain4Industry, building on the systematic development of industry collaboration and a strong track record of patents and publications. These centres create a structured link between research and practice, supporting technology transfer, digital innovation, and the application of advanced technologies in industry. He currently serves as Chair of the Board of MATCA and as Chair of the Steering Committee of Brain4Industry. He also coordinated the internship development centre RADIUS, which connects young talents with academia and industry.
