Inese Suija-Markova

Inese Suija-Markova, PhD, is the Deputy Mayor of Cēsis Municipality, Chair of the Development Board of the Vidzeme Planning Region (Latvia), and Chair of the Baltic Sea States Subregional Cooperation (BSSSC) since 2026. She brings more than 16 years of leadership experience, including heading the Institute for Environmental Solutions, a research and innovation organisation dedicated to environmental and natural resource challenges.
