Christian Veske

Christian Veske has served as the Estonian Gender Equality and Equal Treatment Commissioner since 2023. In this role, he works to ensure that no one in Estonia is treated unfairly on the basis of gender, age, disability, nationality, race, religion, beliefs or sexual orientation. The Commissioner’s mission is to support individuals and organizations in gaining the knowledge and tools needed to prevent discrimination and to protect their rights as well as to highlight systemic inequalities and promote solutions that can be reflected in legislation. Veske has worked in the fields of equal treatment and gender equality for nearly 20 years. He served previously at the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) and in the Gender Equality Department of the Ministry of Social Affairs.
