TheEEA is the European Union Eco-label Competent Body in Estonia, which handles eco-label applications. The Agency checks that products and services meet the criteria and issues the right to use the label.
Today, there are more than 460 different eco-labels in use worldwide, and it can be difficult to find your way around them. Fortunately, there are trusted labels that can help you find the ones that are better for the environment and our health in a wide range of products. It is more important than ever to contribute to the preservation of our environment - conservation is not far away, it is in everyone's choices!
Type I eco-labels are trustworthy because they are issued by an independent organisation and comply with the ISO 14024 standard. It is important to be able to recognise them among all environmental labels.
Product compliance is assessed by looking at the whole life cycle of the product, ensuring that the impact on the environment is minimised. Criteria are set for product composition, performance and packaging.
